Wild card Thomas Leygue and partner Jesus Moya took down world No. 17 Edu Alonso and No. 32 Aimar Goni at FIP Platinum Lyon, then saw their run end one round later against a seeded pair. The official center court broadcast from the tournament's round of 16 captured the whole night.

Three Tiebreaks, No Breaks of Serve

Leygue, ranked 108th, and Moya, ranked 143rd, beat sixth-seeded Alonso and Goni 6-7, 7-6, 7-6 in a match that ran 2 hours and 28 minutes. Neither side managed a single break of serve across the three sets, and every set went to a tiebreak. It was the second straight day Leygue and Moya had gone the distance: they had saved a match point to beat Lamperti and Alvarez just 24 hours earlier.

The Run Ends in the Quarterfinals

Fourth-seeded Momo Gonzalez and Lucas Campagnolo ended the fairy tale in the last eight, winning 6-3, 6-4. Gonzalez and Campagnolo played low and strong to pin Leygue and Moya at the net before finishing points with lobs, a plan that worked as fatigue caught up with the home pair after two marathon nights in a row.
