All four top men reach the Valladolid P2 quarterfinals as Friday's last eight loads up

All four of the world's leading men's pairs reached the Valladolid P2 quarterfinals, and they go again Friday afternoon. Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, Ale Galan and Fede Chingotto, Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger, and Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas all came through Thursday's round of 16 without much trouble.

Coello and Tapia, the top seeds, beat Alex Chozas and Tino Libaak 6-2, 6-3. Galan and Chingotto were just as quick past Luis Hernandez and Javi Martinez, 6-3, 6-3. Both pairs are now two wins from another final, which has been the story of the 2026 season: Coello and Tapia took the Italy Major in Rome and the Valencia P1 with Galan and Chingotto across the net each time.

The men's last eight

The marquee quarterfinal sends Coello and Tapia against Inigo Jofre and Jairo Bautista, while Galan and Chingotto draw the all-action pair of Martin Di Nenno and Paquito Navarro. Lebron and Augsburger and Stupaczuk and Yanguas fill out the rest of the draw, with Fran Guerrero and Javi Leal and Momo Gonzalez and Lucas Campagnolo also through.

The women keep their favorites

The women's draw held its shape too. Top seeds Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea, fresh off their Gijon P2 title, dropped four games in beating Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga 7-5, 6-0. Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez and Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero are into the last eight as well, setting up another stacked weekend in Castile.

Semifinals are set for Saturday, with the finals on Sunday.
