Coello and Tapia meet Galan and Chingotto again in the Valladolid P2 final

Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia will play Alejandro Galan and Federico Chingotto for the Valladolid P2 title on Sunday, the latest chapter of the rivalry that has run the men's game.

How the semifinals went

Coello and Tapia were ruthless on Saturday. They beat Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger 6-4 6-4 in under an hour and barely looked troubled. Galan and Chingotto had the longer, messier night. They dropped the second set before edging Fran Guerrero and Javi Leal 6-4 1-6 6-3, a battle that ran past two hours.

A rivalry on repeat

This is the 37th meeting between the two pairs. Coello and Tapia hold a 23-13 head-to-head edge and have taken the last two, in Rome and Valencia. They are also the home favourites here, defending the title they won in Valladolid last season. The match is on the central court at the Plaza Mayor.

The women's final first

Before the men play, Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero face Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez. Sanchez and Ustero reached the final by knocking out the world No. 1 pair, Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea, 6-3 7-6. Both finals are set for Sunday afternoon, women on court first at around 17:30 local time and the men to follow.
