Coello and Tapia defend their Valladolid crown as Josemaria and Gonzalez sweep the women's title

Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia came back from 5-3 down in the opening set to beat Alejandro Galan and Federico Chingotto 7-5, 6-4 in Sunday's Valladolid P2 final, defending their title in front of a home crowd in Castilla y Leon.

A familiar final, a familiar winner

The world No. 1 pair trailed early on the Plaza Mayor center court before reeling off four games in a row to steal the first set. They never let the lead slip after that. It was the latest chapter of a rivalry these two teams have played out all year, and Coello and Tapia have now won it three finals running, after Rome and Valencia.

The trophy is their fifth of the 2026 season, more than any other men's pair, and it came off the back of their 25th straight final. Galan and Chingotto had taken the harder road to get here, needing three sets and well over an hour and a half to see off Fran Guerrero and Javi Leal in the semis. Coello and Tapia cruised, dropping Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger 6-4, 6-4 in under an hour.

Josemaria and Gonzalez complete the sweep

Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez made it a clean day for the top seeds, beating Ariana Sanchez and Andrea Ustero 6-4, 6-2 in the women's final. It is the sixth title of the season for Josemaria and Gonzalez, who have clicked fast as a partnership.

The tour barely stops to breathe. Premier Padel moves straight to France for the Bordeaux P2, where qualifying is already running and the main draw starts Tuesday.
