Alejandro Galan and Fede Chingotto are through to the Paris Major final after grinding out a 7-5, 6-2 win over Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno in Sunday's semifinal at Roland Garros.
A slow start, then control
Galan and Chingotto trailed early in both sets on Court Philippe Chatrier before finding their rhythm. They closed out the first set 7-5 and pulled away in the second to seal it 6-2, ending Navarro and Di Nenno's run one round short of the final.
Di Nenno and Navarro had reached the semifinal by upsetting Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz in straight sets, a run that put them in the frame for their first Major final together. Sunday's loss ends that bid.
