Top Seeds Coello-Tapia and Galan-Chingotto Cruise Into Milano P1 Quarterfinals

Agustin Tapia and Arturo Coello needed just two sets to reach the quarterfinals of the Milano P1, beating Jose Jimenez and Alejandro Arroyo 6-2, 6-2 on Thursday at the Allianz Cloud in Milan.

Galan and Chingotto also cruise

The second seeds, Alejandro Galan and Federico Chingotto, were even quicker. They dismissed Francisco Gil and Ramiro Valenzuela 6-1, 6-1 in just 58 minutes to book their own spot in the last eight.

Both results keep the tournament on script heading into Friday. The round of 16 wrapped up Thursday across the Allianz Cloud Milano and the GetFIT venue, with the top two seeds in the men's draw advancing without dropping a set between them.

What comes next

Quarterfinals are scheduled for Friday, October 16, starting at 9:00 am local time. The Milano P1 runs October 12 to 18 and carries total prize money of 479,068 euros, the last stop of this leg of the European swing before the tour moves on.

Tapia and Coello remain the top seeds in Milan and will be among the favorites again this week if they keep the straight-sets form they showed in the round of 16.
