Malaga P1 men's semifinals set: Coello-Tapia meet Navarro-Di Nenno, Galan-Chingotto face Lebron-Augsburger

Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia will meet Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno in the Malaga P1 semifinals on Saturday, with Ale Galan and Fede Chingotto drawn against Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger for the other place in the final.

The top seeds survive a scare

Coello and Tapia, winners of the last four Premier Padel events, needed three sets to get past Edu Alonso and Aimar Goni in the quarterfinals. The unseeded Spaniards took the opener in a tiebreak before the world No. 1 pair reeled off the next two, 6-7, 6-1, 6-4. Navarro and Di Nenno booked their side of the draw with a cleaner 7-5, 6-3 win over Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas. The two pairs met at the same stage in Bordeaux, where Coello and Tapia came through in straight sets.

Galan and Chingotto face the surprise pair

In the bottom half, Galan and Chingotto edged Fran Guerrero and Javi Leal 6-3, 7-6 to stay on course. Their opponents are the run of the tournament: Lebron and the young Leo Augsburger, who beat Momo Gonzalez and Lucas Campagnolo 6-3, 6-2 to reach the last four.

Both semifinals are at the Martin Carpena arena on Saturday. Coello and Tapia play Navarro and Di Nenno as the second match on Center Court, after the women's opener. Galan and Chingotto take on Lebron and Augsburger not before 16:00 CEST.
