Lebron out of Malaga P1 with back injury; Stupaczuk pairs with Maxi Arce

Juan Lebron will not play the Malaga Premier Padel P1. The former world No. 1 has pulled out with the lumbar injury he has been nursing since Valladolid, and with the entry deadline already closed, his partner Franco Stupaczuk has turned to Maxi Arce to fill the gap.

What happened

Lebron first felt the lower-back problem at the Valladolid P2 and then sat out Bordeaux to rest it. The break wasn't enough. He hasn't recovered in time for Malaga, so the Spaniard drops off the entry list for the tour's next stop at the Palacio de Deportes Jose Maria Martin Carpena.

Stupaczuk's new partner

Rather than sit out, Stupaczuk brings in Maxi Arce, the Argentine who topped the A1 Padel rankings from 2021 to 2023. It's Arce's step up to this level of Premier Padel, and the reshaped pair goes in seeded seventh. That keeps Stupaczuk in the title picture while Lebron heals.

When Lebron returns

The plan points to Tarragona. Lebron and Stupaczuk are already entered for the Tarragona P1, the last event before the summer break, and that's the target for his comeback if the back holds up. Malaga's main draw runs July 13-19 after qualifying, leaving the new seventh seeds little time to gel.
