Galan and Chingotto Outlast Nieto and Yanguas for Seventh Madrid P1 Title

Alejandro Galan and Federico Chingotto won the Comunidad de Madrid P1 on Sunday, beating Jorge Nieto and Miguel Yanguas 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 in a final that ran two hours and 43 minutes at the Movistar Arena.

A tight three-setter

Nieto and Yanguas, playing their first final together as a pairing, broke back to force a third set after Galan and Chingotto had served for the match in the second. Galan and Chingotto regrouped, took an early break in the decider and held on to close it out.

Seventh title of the season

The win is the seventh title of the 2026 season for Galan and Chingotto, who have now reached 12 finals together this year, with earlier titles in Gijon, Miami, Newgiza, Asuncion, Buenos Aires and Pretoria. It is also Galan's first Madrid trophy since the tournament's first edition in 2022.

What it means for the rankings

The result tightens the race at the top of the men's Premier Padel standings, with Galan and Chingotto closing ground heading into the Paris Major, which opens this week at Roland Garros.
