Aguirre and Fernandez Win FIP Silver McAllen Texas, Dubins Takes Second US Title of the Year

Leonel Aguirre and Antonio Fernandez won the FIP Silver McAllen Texas on Sunday, beating Ivo Andenmatten Gudino and Vinny Di Francesco 6-3, 6-2 in the men's final at RGV Padel and Pickleball Club in Mission.

A statement week for Aguirre and Fernandez

Aguirre, an Argentine known for his flair around the net, teamed up with Spain's Fernandez, who already had a FIP Silver title in Dublin and a FIP Bronze in Mallorca this year. The pair dropped just nine games across the final and closed it out in straight sets.

Dubins doubles up on home soil

In the women's draw, Brittany Dubins and Camila Ramme added the McAllen title to their season, Dubins' second US win of the year. The American-Argentine pairing arrived in Texas fresh off a final at FIP Gold San Luis and had already taken the FIP Bronze in Miami in May.

Part of a packed CUPRA FIP Tour week

McAllen was one of several CUPRA FIP Tour stops that wrapped over the same weekend, with a separate Silver draw also finishing in Westerbork, Netherlands. The US calendar keeps growing this season, with the tour set to visit more American cities before the year is out.
