Icardo and Jensen stun world No. 1 Triay and Brea to win Bordeaux P2

Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen won the biggest title of their careers on Sunday, beating world number ones Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea in the final of the Betclic Bordeaux Premier Padel P2. It's the first Premier Padel title the pair have won together, and it caps a week almost nobody saw coming.

An unseeded run through the best in the draw

Seeded fifth, Icardo and Jensen took down three of the strongest teams in the game on their way to the trophy. In the quarterfinals they beat the fourth seeds Sofía Araújo and Claudia Fernández 6-4, 2-6, 6-2. Then came the result that turned heads: a 6-4, 6-3 win over the in-form second seeds Paula Josemaría and Bea González in the semifinals. Triay and Brea had reached the final the hard way too, edging Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero 7-5, 6-1.

What it means

For Icardo it's a first Premier Padel title after years on tour, and her first final since the Málaga P1 in 2025. Jensen hadn't played a final since winning the Acapulco P1 in 2024 alongside Jessica Castelló. Triay and Brea, chasing a fourth title of the season after Gijón, Cancún and Rome, go home empty-handed this time. The circuit now moves on to the Málaga P1, which runs July 13 to 19.
