Bordeaux P2 semifinals set: Coello and Tapia, Galan and Chingotto through to Saturday's last four

Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia are into the Bordeaux P2 semifinals, and so are Ale Galan and Fede Chingotto, after the men's top seeds all came through Friday's quarterfinals in France. The last four is set for Saturday, July 4.

How the quarterfinals played out

Coello and Tapia, the world number ones, had the toughest day. They dropped the second set to Momo Gonzalez and Lucas Campagnolo before pulling clear 7-5, 3-6, 6-1, the only men's quarterfinal to go the distance. Galan and Chingotto were far more comfortable, brushing aside Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz 6-1, 6-3. Mike Yanguas and Franco Stupaczuk, the fourth seeds, saw off Juan Tello and Maxi Arce 7-5, 6-4.

The result that reshaped the bottom half came from Martin Di Nenno and Paquito Navarro, who knocked out Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger 6-3, 7-5 to book a semifinal against Coello and Tapia.

Saturday's semifinals

Yanguas and Stupaczuk meet Galan and Chingotto first, not before 17:00 local time. Coello and Tapia then close the day against Di Nenno and Navarro, not before 18:30. The winners advance to Sunday's final.
