Coello and Tapia top the Bordeaux P2 draw with Galan and Chingotto right behind

Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia are the No. 1 seeds for the Bordeaux P2, and the draw hands them a first-round bye as Premier Padel's French stop gets underway this week. Alejandro Galan and Federico Chingotto sit right behind them at No. 2, also with a bye, which keeps the two best men's teams of 2026 on opposite ends of the bracket.

The event runs from June 28 to July 5 at the Patinoire Bordeaux Meriadeck. Women's qualifying opened the week on Monday, June 29, and the men's main draw starts Tuesday, June 30. The men's field holds 28 teams, the women's 24.

Another final on a collision course

Coello and Tapia against Galan and Chingotto has been the script all season. The two pairs met in the Italy Major final in Rome and again in last weekend's Valladolid P2 final, where Coello and Tapia came through. Both teams now sit at the top of the Bordeaux seeding, so if they hold form through the week, France is in line for yet another meeting between them.

The women's race stays tight

On the women's side, Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea and the pairing of Bea Gonzalez and Paula Josemaria have traded titles back and forth in 2026. Gonzalez and Josemaria took the Valladolid crown last weekend, and Bordeaux is the next chance for Triay and Brea to answer.

Play runs through the closing weekend, with the finals expected on Sunday, July 5.
