Tapia and Coello Breeze Past Ayats and Sanchez Chamero in Milano Opener

Agustin Tapia and Arturo Coello needed just over an hour to see off Arnau Ayats and Emilio Sanchez Chamero 6-3, 6-3 on Wednesday, moving into the round of 16 at the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1.

A routine start

The world number ones broke serve twice in each set and did not face a single break point in the second, closing out the match on Centre Court without much drama. It is the kind of low-stress day Tapia and Coello have made their trademark this season as they chase another deep run on home turf in Italy.

The win was the pair's first of the week in Milan after receiving a bye straight into round two as the top seeds. Ayats and Sanchez Chamero could not find an answer for Tapia's return game once Coello settled into his rhythm at the net.

What's next

The result sends Tapia and Coello into Thursday's round of 16 at the Allianz Cloud. The Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1 runs through the weekend, with the semifinals scheduled for Saturday and the final set for Sunday afternoon.
