Ale Galan and Fede Chingotto headline the Malaga P1 afternoon session on Thursday, drawn against Juan Tello and Maxi Arce in a round-of-16 tie that starts no earlier than 16:00 local time on the Martin Carpena central court. A place in Friday's quarterfinals is the reward.

How they got here

Galan and Chingotto barely broke sweat last time out, dismissing Denis Perino and Facundo Dominguez 6-0, 6-3 in 57 minutes. Tello and Arce had to grind harder to reach the last 16, coming through their opener earlier in the week. The Argentine duo has been one of the season's better stories, and they pushed deep at the recent Bordeaux P2, where Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas edged them in the quarters 7-5, 6-4.

Galan and Chingotto land in Malaga fresh off a run to the Bordeaux final, which they dropped to Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia 5-7, 7-6(4), 6-2. They're clear favourites here.
