Coello, Tapia, Galan and Chingotto both through the London P1 round of 16

Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia are into the London P1 quarterfinals in straight sets, and Ale Galan and Fede Chingotto have joined them after a much tougher afternoon at Olympia.

The world number ones beat Nuno and Miguel Deus 6-2, 6-4 in their round of 16 opener, breaking serve twice in each set and rarely looking troubled. It keeps them on course for a quarterfinal spot in Britain's first Premier Padel event.

Galan and Chingotto survive a scare

The second seeds had a harder route. Flavio Abbate and Alvaro Montiel took the opening set fight to 6-3, then forced a second-set tie-break that they won 7-6(7) to level the match. Galan and Chingotto steadied in the decider, closing it out 6-2 to book their own place in the last eight. The final scoreline read 6-3, 6-7(7), 6-2.

Both pairs now wait to learn their quarterfinal opponents as the rest of the men's draw finishes up at Olympia this week.
