Victor Ruiz and Facundo Lopez are the new FIP Gold Ciudad de Sevilla champions. The Spanish-Argentine pair beat top seeds Nacho Piotto and Javi Barahona 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in Sunday's final at Iconico Sports and Social in Seville.
A set down, then a turnaround
Piotto and Barahona took the first set 6-4 and looked in control. Ruiz and Lopez steadied in the second, leveling the match 6-4, then closed it out 6-3 in the decider. It is Lopez's second FIP Gold title of the season after Shanghai in June, and his sixth CUPRA FIP Tour trophy of 2026 overall.
For Ruiz, the win carried extra weight. He lost last year's FIP Platinum final in the same city, partnered then with Alex Ruiz, to Paquito Navarro and Lucas Bergamini. This time he left Seville with the trophy.
Women's final goes the same way
The women's title also went to the lower seeds. Julieta Bidahorria and Virginia Riera beat number one seeds Lucia Sainz and Leti Manquillo 6-2, 6-4, a repeat of their semifinal scoreline against Elena De La Rosa and Daniela Portilla. It is the Argentine-Spanish pair's third title of the season, after wins in Nairobi and Houten.
The tournament awarded 150 FIP Ranking points to the winners on each side of the draw.
