Nieto and Yanguas Meet Stupaczuk and Sanz for FIP Gold Belgrade Title

Coki Nieto and Mike Yanguas will face Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz in Sunday's FIP Gold Belgrade final, a rematch of sorts between two pairs of former partners who are now on opposite sides of the net.

Old partners, new rivals

Nieto and Yanguas won a tight semifinal over Pablo Lijo and Xisco Gil, 7-6, 7-5. Stupaczuk and Sanz were more clinical, beating Alex Ruiz and Javi Garcia 6-3, 6-1 in their first tournament together. Until a few weeks ago, Stupaczuk played alongside Yanguas, and Nieto played alongside Sanz. Now the four will meet for the FIP Gold Belgrade title, and 150 ranking points, with the men's final starting no earlier than 20:00 Belgrade time.

Salazar and Osoro chase the women's title

The women's final pits the tournament's top two seeds against each other. Ale Salazar and Aranzazu Osoro dropped the first set to Marta Barrera and Jana Montes before storming back 6-2, 6-0 to reach the final. Lorena Rufo and Victoria Iglesias followed almost the same script, losing the opener to Marta Talavan and Jessica Castello before closing it out 6-4, 6-0. Salazar and Osoro now meet Rufo and Iglesias at 18:30 Belgrade time, the curtain raiser for finals day in Serbia.
