Fourth seeds Yanguas and Stupaczuk close Bordeaux P2's quarterfinals against a dangerous Tello and Arce

The last of Friday's Bordeaux P2 men's quarterfinals is also the most awkward draw for the seeds. Mike Yanguas and Franco Stupaczuk, seeded fourth, close the day on Court 2 against Juan Tello and Maxi Arce, with the winner going through to Saturday's semifinals.

How they got here

Yanguas and Stupaczuk had the cleaner route through the last 16, seeing off Tino Libaak and Alex Chozas 6-2, 6-4. Tello and Arce had to grind. They edged the seventh seeds Javi Leal and Fran Guerrero 6-1, 6(3)-7, 7-6(3), saving their tournament in a final-set tie-break after letting the second set slip.

Why it's tricky

Tello and Arce are the kind of unseeded pair the seeds hate to meet this deep. They swing freely, they defend for days, and they have already proven in this event that they can live through three sets. Yanguas and Stupaczuk are the heavier favorites on paper, but a slow start on an outside court could hand momentum to a pair with nothing to lose.
