Claudia Fernandez and Martina Calvo are the new Germany P2 champions. The fourth seeds beat Ari Sanchez and Andrea Ustero 6-3, 6-0 in Sunday's final in Dusseldorf, ending the top pair's bid for a third straight title in a row.

## A statement final

Sanchez and Ustero arrived unbeaten in finals this season, having won back to back titles in Paris and Rotterdam just the week before. Fernandez and Calvo had other plans. They broke early in the first set, held their nerve to close it out 6-3, then blanked their opponents 6-0 in the second to finish the match in a little over an hour.

## Season context

The result snaps a run that looked unstoppable. Sanchez had been chasing her 100th career final only weeks earlier in Rotterdam, where she and Ustero beat Paula Josemaria and Bea Gonzalez for that title. Dusseldorf turned out to be a different story entirely, and Fernandez and Calvo made the most of their chance on the big stage.

The men's final also wrapped the week in Germany. Agustin Tapia and Arturo Coello beat Franco Stupaczuk and Jon Sanz 6-2, 7-6 for their own third straight title and the 11th of their season.

## What's next

Both pairs now turn to the next stop on the Premier Padel calendar. Sanchez and Ustero will look to respond quickly, while Fernandez and Calvo carry fresh momentum into their next draw.
